Teams FIDE-Rated Blitz 1. Invitation Shamieh Chess Academy is pleased to organize a one-day Teams’ Blitz FIDE-Rated tournament, under the supervision of Lebanese Federation, and in collaboration with Beirut Builders Lions Club. 2. Venue & Schedule The venue is Shamieh Club – Sin El Fil. Schedule of the tournament: Sunday, 6 September: 10:00 – 10:45 Registration and paying Fees 11:00 – 11:20 Round One 11:30 – 11:50 Round Two 12:00 – 12:20 Round Three 12:30 – 12:50 Round Four 13:00 – 13:20 Round Five 13:20 – 14:30 Lunch Break 14:30 – 14:50 Round Six 15:00 – 15:20 Round Seven 15:30 – 15:50 Round Eight 16:00 – 16:20 Round Nine 16:30 – 16:50 Round Ten 17:00 – 17:30 Round Eleven 17:30 – 18:00 Prize distribution 3. Participation Registration is open for any team of three players plus one additional player (Optional). They should provide the following not later than Wednesday, September 2, 2026: 1) Name of the Team and name of captain. 2) Board 1: Name of player 3) Board 2: Name of player 4) Board 3: Name of player 5) Board 4: Name of player The name of the team should be decent and does not offend anyone. Changes can be made to the names and formation up to Friday September 4, 2026 at 20:00 when it is final. 4. Fees can be paid at the doors, or by sending WHISH payment to: 81210816. Access to the playing areas is provided ONLY to persons accredited by the Organizing Committee. Players who finish their games should get out of the playing area. 5. Meals No lunch is provided. Two onsite restaurants are available. You can order from them, order delivery from outside, or bring your own lunch. 6. System and Rate of Play The tournament is an eleven-round Swiss FIDE-Rated Blitz tournament for teams. The playing time is 5 minutes with an increment of 3 seconds per move starting with white’s first move. Tie-break (in sequence, proceeding from (a) to (b) to (c) to (d) to the extent required): a) Match points (2 for wins, 1 for draws, 0 for losses). b) Points (game points). c) Results of teams in same point group according to Match Points. d) Buchholz (removing best and worst result). 7. Prizes Prizes for winning teams are as follows: I 150$ II 100$ III 50$ Special Prizes for TWO teams are as follows: 1st Team average U1600 50$ 1st Team all players Under 14 50$ 8. Special Procedures: • Draws can occur after at least one move has been made.
